Who knew my life could be so busy?? Don’t get me wrong, I love it! But, I would definitely say I could use some more sleep. Stuff going from morning to night every day this week, capped off by the Stop Light Party at In The Venue on Thursday. I haven’t danced that much since Spain, and it was so much fun! I really need to go out more often. Maybe once all of my applications are done. I’m almost to the end!

VIVA LA CRIMSON!! I just gotta say, Crimson Nights is insane! I have been working it for over a year and a half now, and I swear it just gets better every time. This is the first time since freshman year that I’ve really had a chance to get down and dance at one, and let me tell you, I got down. So much so that I am still sore even today. Out until 5:00 in the morning Friday night. 3:00 last night. I am tired. But, this week is gonna be sick with the Stop Light Party and Caddyshack. It’s time to get silly!

Oh my goodness, so much this week! We’ll just call it date night week. May have been because of Valentine’s Day, but that was the only day I actually slept. Tuesday was a brand new event with UPC….Speed Dating was so successful. There were some hiccups, as could be expected, but with 70 daters (after having to turn some away) it definitely exceeded expectations. I didn’t get to see much of it because I was running around so much, but it looked like a ton of fun. I definitely want to try out some speed dating for myself at some point. Wednesday, though, was date night! Went sledding with Lacey for Beta date night! Definitely got some scratches and bruises, but it was a ton of fun! And Friday I ended up getting sushi with Amber after meeting, which was delicious and long overdue. Gotta say, it was definitely busy, but I enjoyed (almost) every minute of it!

So, I made the front page of the Utah Athletics site! Went to the gymnastics meet yesterday, which was pretty amazing with a perfect 10.0. But, I gotta say, this semester is turning out to be crazy! A lot of stuff is coming up, but not a ton this week. BUT, stay tuned for some stuff in the coming weeks for sure!

The haze we’ve been having in Utah lately is really just kinda insane! The inversion has led to some pretty nasty air. My dear friend Alex tweeted yesterday about how walking in it for an hour is about the equivalent of smoking a pack of cigarettes. Well, I decided that in that case I’d better be safe so I’ve been wearing a face mask when I go outside. But, the fog has made for some pretty sweet pictures. Check out my Instagram to see them!

Guess who is now a model! Well, at least for a day. I ended up having a meeting canceled on Wednesday so was asked to go be a part of a campus photo shoot. Pretty sure I got some really good ones in, so I’ll probably end up on a bus or train or something like that. School went crazy. Don’t even know what to expect from my classes this semester. First scholarship app turned in, now just gotta get a couple more started. First big event for UPC last night..Game On by the FABs. Gotta say, I think it actually went pretty well. Plus I discovered my amazing pong talent. I dare you to take me on!

What a week! School started, which obviously brings with it lots of new things in life. New classes, new friends, new programs, new opportunities. Let’s just say I have a lot to look forward to this semester as well as even further into the future! Well, the dominating occurrence of the week was a little blizzard called Winter Storm Gandolf. I went to the Pac-12 home opener against UCLA last night, which we lost despite a great showing. All the while, snow was falling outside, leaving horrible road conditions. My commute ended up almost tripling on my way home, and I ended up stuck at home all day today. Positive and negative aspects to that one. Had to miss the Grizzlies game, which would have been a party with everyone there, but at least I’m alive, right? Anyway, here’s to a great things to come!

School starts in two days??! I can hardly believe that the past few weeks have gone by so fast! It didn’t feel too much like a break because I was still at work most of the time for work, but at the same time I will say that it was nice to not have to worry about classes and get at least a bit more sleep. Capped off the holiday recess by taking a trip to Park City for the ASUU retreat. Somehow I managed to get hooked up with a sweet penthouse suite right next to Park City Resort. Food, bowling, dancing, lots of good times. Next time I just need to hit the slopes! Anyone want to teach me to ski?

Thanksgiving is officially over! I know a lot of people think it’s Un-American, but I am not a huge fan of the holiday at all. Mostly I just think it’s an unnecessary excuse for overindulgence that is already so rampant in the US. Anyway, one thing I do love about it, though, and this time of year in general is the willingness of a lot of people to help out. I love to volunteer and help out whenever I can, and I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so with the Unrivaled Rivalry Food Drive. As part of Student Alumni Board, I helped to organize the drive for the Utah Food Bank. Exact final totals haven’t been determined yet, but we raised over $25,000, which will go a long way to feed a lot of people. And, even more, I had so much fun in the process! Now, it’s time for the Christmas season. I know it will be busy, but I love every minute!

This is it. Last night was the final home game of the season. I have to say, being on Student Alumni Board, obviously among other things, has helped make this easily my best year of school thus far. I’ve been in the MUSS before, but I’ve had so much fun being with so many people that I love so much. Even though we lost last night, I think it was a great way for me to end the season. I made so many memories, and I will miss football games a lot! But, at least I can look forward to next year still! Everyone who is graduating will be dearly missed.

The week from hell is over.  I have not tumbl’d in a pretty long time.  While it’s partially because I’ve been a little lazy, it’s also because I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had much time to write, or actually do anything that is worthy of a post.  Ever since I got back from Spain, I’ve been spending a lot of time getting ready for the first week of school.  It’s weird because I haven’t even had much chance to concentrate on my classes even yet.  It’s been getting ready for other activities that go along with it.  As UPC Director of Community Service, I am responsible for getting the Welcome Week information fair together.  It really doesn’t seem like it would even be that challenging, but there really is a lot of behind-the-scenes work that goes into it that you might not think about.  Lots of contacting businesses and student groups, following up with them, dealing with their complaints.  And of course the week ended with Crimson Nights.  It was definitely a crazy night.  So many people came, I was way busy the whole time!  I didn’t even have the chance to get picture until it was over.  Next time, I’ll have to be sure to do better with that.  And, hopefully now that this week is over I’ll be able to have more time to do stuff and I can get back to tumbling!

It’s been almost a week since I came home from Missouri.  I feel stupid for saying it, but I feel like I have changed so much for having had the opportunity to go to I-LEAD.  I am proud of the effort I made to step out of my comfort zone and make it a good experience.  It would have been so easy to just sit back and let the institute pass by without taking anything away from it.  Looking back, that’s really how I went into the week.  But, I forced myself to open up and learn, and I was able to meet amazing, new friends because of it and grow closer to other friends from home.  Again, it sounds cliche, but I loved my week there, and I’m so looking forward to when I’ll be able to see my friends from across the country again.

I’m at the airport waiting for the security line to open to fly home.  This is such a bittersweet departure.  I am so excited to go home in some ways, but I never want to leave the people I have grown so close to this week.  There will be so many lasting memories, like the sass, and the hash tag, and the bing, and the bernie, and little bananas, and tripping, and the sunglasses crew, and the jersey turnpike.  I love my other UPC directors, and I am so glad I get to go home and work with them this year, but I wish that my new friends could be so much closer to me too!  Like, at least in the same state.  At least I had the opportunity to meet them, right?

Today was a good day.  I managed to get myself to go running twice!  I got up early this morning and went for a run before it got too hot.  There are so many bunnies on this campus!  I happened upon some having a bit of fun.  Anyway, I made plans to go running with Alex and Kari, but Kari didn’t end up coming.  So, just Alex and I went, and I actually managed to get almost two miles!  It’s amazing how much he was able to motivate me!  I’m glad I had him to go with me, I’m just hoping I can get out again this week so I can keep it up.  Anyway, at lunch today, some kids from my group and I started to pull out some dance moves.  I showed them how I could pop, lock, and drop it, then taught them the jersey turnpike.  Haha they definitely enjoyed that, especially when Alyssa buried her face in my butt!  I’m pretty satisfied with my group.  I got to talk with Nate, Alyssa, and Corrin a bit more today, and they’re all actually way cool!  On another note, I had a phone interview today, and got a job at the Union Services Desk.  Finally I’m going to have some decent income once I get home!
